El Mirage El Mirage Dry Lake is Northwest of Victorville, CA
Ivanpah Ivanpah Dry Lake is South of Primm, NV
Superior Superior Dry Lake is North of Barstow, CA
El Mirage Drylake, is where the Wind Wizards normally have their Sail Days. We meet at Sailor’s Bay on El Mirage Drylake.

The dry lake is located west of Adelanto, California, between US highway 395 and the Los Angeles County line. Most visitors enter the area from US highway 395 near Adelanto by taking Chamberlaine Way (formerly Crippen Avenue) west to Kiowa Road. Turn right on Kiowa Road and follow the signs toward the town of El Mirage. At El Mirage Road, turn left Just east of the town of El Mirage, take Mountain View Road north to enter the El Mirage OHV Recreation Area. A sign located at this intersection will direct you to the recreation area.
If you come from Palmdale, take Palmdale Boulevard eastbound and turn left (north) at 240th Street . Turn right (east) at Avenue P. At the San Bernardino County line, Avenue P becomes El Mirage Road. Follow El Mirage Road through the community of El Mirage. Just east of the town of El Mirage, take Mountain View Road north to enter the El Mirage OHV Recreation Area. A sign located at this intersection will direct you to the recreation area.
At the lake shoreyou will see a windsock. Once on the lake, drive about 4 miles west. Along the way you will pass a second windsock, this is Liberty Point. You are about halfway down the lake. Keep going and you’ll find us near the third windsock, along the south edge of the lake.
To Non-Members: Everyone is welcome to come on out and enjoy a day with us in the high desert. The temperatures on the desert are often more exteme than the L.A. or San Bernardino areas. BRING WATER, at least two quarts per person per day, more in the summertime. Bring warm clothes, too, as night time temperatures can often be cool, even in the warmer months.
Someone will probably offer you a ride in their landyacht. Take the ride. You might like it. Bring your friends.
